Spain requires those coming from France through the land borders to prove that they have tested positive for Corona

Today, Saturday, the Spanish Ministry of Health decided to compel those coming from France through the land borders to submit a test result that proves negative for the new Corona virus (Covid-19), after the high rate of infection inside Spain.

The ministry stated - in a statement carried by the British newspaper "The Guardian" - that the decision will take effect 3 days after its publication in the official newspaper, provided that it will remain in place until the Spanish government announces the end of the health crisis caused by the Corona virus.

She explained that the decision does not apply to truck drivers, people who regularly cross for work, as well as those who live within Spain within 30 kilometers of the Spanish-French border.

The newspaper pointed out that during the recent period, the borders witnessed an increase in the number of French people crossing the border to Spain to visit restaurants, cafes and bars open in the capital Madrid and other regions, with the continuation of the application of general closure measures in France.
