The Kremlin: Russia is preparing itself for new US sanctions on "baseless" accusations

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Russia is taking all necessary measures to prepare itself for new US sanctions that are expected to be imposed following the publication of a US intelligence report accusing Moscow of political interference.

A 15-page CIA report said on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin may have made efforts to try to tip Donald Trump in the 2020 US presidential election.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there was no basis for these allegations, adding that they were not based on any evidence.

He said it would do more harm to the bilateral ties.
