The UN envoy to Libya discusses in Moscow the implementation of the road map to settle the crisis

The UN envoy to Libya Jan Kubis discussed with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, the implementation of a roadmap to settle the Libyan crisis.


A statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the two parties discussed "issues of implementation by the new leadership of the roadmap to settle the Libyan crisis, which was adopted by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in November 2020."


The Russian Foreign Ministry statement also stressed the importance of strengthening international efforts, with a focus on the role of the United Nations to move forward in achieving a settlement of the Libyan crisis based on the principles of respect for the unity and territorial integrity of its territories.


The statement continued: "Moscow reaffirmed its firm commitment to the principles of settling the crisis in Libya through the establishment of a comprehensive Libyan dialogue with the participation of all political parties in the country."
