Planning launches a program to build the capacity of managers of incubators and accelerators

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by the Rowad 2030 project, in cooperation with the American University in Cairo Business Incubator, announced the launch of a special program to build the capacities of managers of incubators and accelerators, within the framework of partnership and support from the Drosos Foundation, in order to share experiences and improve various support mechanisms to create various job opportunities and stimulate growth Economic.


And Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, that the ministry, represented by the Rowad 2030 project, supports business incubators and works to develop and support them, pointing to the project's contribution to establishing 9 business incubators in the fields of artificial intelligence and tourism, as well as the Egyptian-African incubator and the mini-factory, noting the important role that These incubators support and embrace small and medium enterprises, support young people with their ideas and provide them with the necessary support.


Hala Al-Saeed added that the current cooperation between the Ministry and the American University Business Incubator is aimed at maximizing the benefit of managers of business incubators and accelerators and entrepreneurship support institutions. From the experience of the American University Business Incubator as the first university accelerator in Egypt, and its contribution to accelerating more than 200 startups and creating more than 8,000 job opportunities.


Al-Saeed explained that the program will start this May; It helps participants design and create new business incubators and develop existing business incubators and accelerators.


For her part, Dr. indicated. Ghada Khalil, Executive Director of the Rowad 2030 project, pointed out that the training program includes three basic units that include the most important tools and methods for designing business incubators and accelerators, programs to support and manage entrepreneurs, building the operational capacity of business incubators and accelerators, and opportunities to unify joint efforts to create a deeper impact in the field of entrepreneurship.


Khalil added that the cooperation comes within the framework of the activities of the Pioneers 2030 project, especially the Pioneers of Meter, as the project is concerned with stimulating and enriching the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in Egypt through the development of an integrated system for entrepreneurship, as business accelerators and incubators have become essential programs to support startups and small and medium-sized companies, with the aim of stimulating Economic growth, job creation, competitiveness, and youth engagement.


And Dr. Ayman Ismail, founding director of the American University Incubator and professor of the Abdul Latif Jameel Chair: “We are pleased to launch a new program in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to support the entrepreneurship and innovation system and the development of new cadres throughout the country, and this cooperation comes within the framework of our continuous commitment to share the experiences it has gained. The incubator over a period of 8 years to support emerging Egyptian companies and to create supportive institutions capable of providing assistance to them and to enhance cooperation opportunities between institutions, especially within Egyptian universities.


Ismail added that the incubator is working to enrich the entrepreneurial climate by supporting and training several institutions that support entrepreneurship within the framework of continuous cooperation with the Drosos Foundation.

It is worth noting that the program contributes to the implementation of Egypt Vision 2030, which aims to make the Egyptian society a producer of science, technology and knowledge, and is distinguished by the existence of an integrated system that guarantees the developmental value of innovation, creativity and knowledge, through specialized rehabilitation programs in cooperation with major local and international universities.
