US Secretary of State: We believe in a two-state solution to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

Anthony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, said that there is opposition to any steps that threaten the two-state solution with regard to the Palestinian issue, including settlement activity and violence, stressing that his country believes in a two-state solution to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

"We are currently focusing on ensuring that tensions are reduced, and that will open the door to negotiations later," he added during a press conference, pointing out that the reconstruction of Gaza and relief for its residents will undermine Hamas because it exploits the suffering of people and thrives when their conditions worsen.

And the US Secretary of State added: Everyone agrees on the need to take steps to get out of the current situation.
