Copa America .. Ortiz insists on taking advantage of the opportunity to reserve a place in the formation of Brazil

Defender Leo Ortiz, who was recently called up to the Brazil squad for the Copa America to replace the injured Atletico Madrid player Felipe, confirmed that he is ready to make the best of this opportunity.

"I'm still young and it's a huge opportunity for me, so I have to take advantage of it in order to have it in future times," Ortiz said of Bragantino, the leader of the Brazilian League.

The 25-year-old defender joined the national team camp, which is preparing to face Chile next Friday in the Copa America quarter-final.

The Bragantino player hopes to have minutes to play in the next match for "Seleção", which will combine the champions of the last 3 Copa Americas, as Chile won in 2015 and 2016 and Brazil in 2019.

Ortiz is considered one of the symbols of his team, which currently tops the Brazilian league table, and has confirmed his desire to learn from veteran players in his position, such as Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain) and Thiago Silva (Chelsea).

"They are two players who are a role model for me, I watch them a lot of matches to learn from their way of playing, they are world-class players," he said.

Ortiz also confirmed his admiration for the other defender of the "Canary" team, Eder Militao, Real Madrid player.

"I am very happy to accompany them all day, I will make the best use of it to gain experience from them, because they are players who compete in the best leagues in the world and they can help me a lot to reach this level," he said.

He stressed that he will do his best in training and will try to be ready in the matches, because in addition to helping his country, he also hopes to develop as a professional player.

The player took advantage of the press conference to thank his father, former player Ortiz, one of the symbols of Brazilian futsal football, for qualifying him as a player.
