How will the Euro 2020 group standings be decided?

The third and final round of the group stage of the European Nations Cup "Euro 2020" will start today evening, in preparation for deciding the qualifiers for the round of 16 of the continental competition.

Italy will host Wales at the Olympic Stadium, and Switzerland will meet Turkey at six in the evening at the same time, in order to decide the qualifiers from the first group to the round of 16.

Italy qualified for the round of 16 of the "Euro 2020" tournament, but the second ticket is still pending between Wales and Switzerland.

We are reviewing the rules of group arrangement in the "Euro 2020" tournament, in preparation for the move to the round of 16 stage of the tournament.

The ranking in each group is calculated according to the points collected by each team.

Group Team Score Calculations:

Three points for a win - a point for a draw - a loss without points.

The champions and runners-up of each group will officially qualify for the eighth final of the tournament, along with the four best third-placed teams.

In the event of a tie on points between two teams of the same group, direct confrontations shall be taken as the first criterion between the concerned teams.

The four best third-place teams are selected based on points, goal difference, and then the number of goals scored as preliminary criteria.

With regard to the lead of each group, it will be decided based on the results of all group matches, bearing in mind that the rule refers to the separation of direct confrontations as a first criterion between any two teams that may be tied on points and not the goal difference.

Finally, the four best third-place teams are selected to join the leaders and runners-up from the qualified teams for the Euro 2020 final, based on the criterion of the number of points and then the goal difference in the event of a tie on points and then the number of goals scored.
