Sudan announces the arrest of a number of remnants of the dissolved party on charges of plotting to create chaos

The Committee to dismantle the regime of June 30, 1989 and to recover public funds in Sudan announced that the Prosecution of the Dismantling Committee had arrested a group of remnants of the dissolved “National Congress” party, who are active in planning to cause chaos, violence and riots, taking advantage of the peaceful marches expected on June 30, and undermining the constitutional order. .

The committee stated, in a statement, that the Public Prosecution had opened cases against the detainees in accordance with the law to dismantle the system of June 30, 1989, and to remove empowerment, the criminal law and the anti-terrorism law.

The committee added that it followed the movement of employees of the former regime in the capital and the states and was able to reach them through close investigations and follow-up and based on reliable information.

She pointed out that the arrests of the accused were carried out by the police under arrest warrants issued by the Public Prosecution, and the prosecution is still ongoing for the rest of the accused who are facing arrest warrants under the criminal cases registered with the Prosecution of the Dismantling Committee.
