British expert: We will bid farewell to the bulk of the Corona epidemic by October

A senior British government adviser has predicted that the coronavirus will be "mostly behind us" by late September or October - at least in the UK.

Neil Ferguson, a British epidemiologist at Imperial College London, said - in statements reported by the British newspaper The Independent today, Tuesday - that the course of the epidemic has fundamentally changed in Britain thanks to the introduction of the vaccine. He cautioned, however, that it will take a few weeks before the impact of the end of restrictions in England on July 19 will be felt.

Meanwhile, the newspaper indicated that ministers have set up about 1,200 new coronavirus testing sites in workplaces amid economic disruption caused by rising infection levels.
