Moroccan reports: Al-Ahly faces Raja in the African Super in Doha, September 25th 25

Press reports revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided, almost permanently, to hold the Al-Ahly match, the champions of the African Champions League, and the Moroccan Raja, the champion of the Confederation Cup, at the end of next September in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Al-Ahly won the African Super Cup for the seventh time in its history, after beating Morocco’s Berkane Renaissance with two clean goals in the match that brought them together last May at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Al Sadd Club in the Qatari capital, Doha.

And the Moroccan newspaper, “Al-Boula”, said that the agenda for the continental competitions revealed by “CAF” last January is that Raja will face Al-Ahly one of the days of September 24, 25 or 26, 2021.

The newspaper pointed out that the closest date for the meeting between Al-Ahly and Al-Rajaa is Saturday, September 25 in Doha.

Al-Ahly won the African Champions League title, at the expense of Kaizer Chiefs, with the trio of Mohamed Sherif, Mohamed Magdy Afsha and Amr Al-Sulayya, to ensure Al-Ahly his seventh participation in the Club World Cup.

Al-Ahly succeeded in reaching the final of the tournament in 14 copies, setting a record that no African team had achieved before, and was able to win the precious title on 10 occasions, an unprecedented record as well.

Al-Ahly managed to win the Champions League title in two consecutive editions three times, the first in 2005 and 2006, and returned to repeat the same achievement in 2012 and 2013, and the last editions of 2020 and 2021, and over the previous 13 finals. Al-Ahly also scored 35 goals and conceded 18 goals.

Al-Ahly club will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted by Japan at the end of 2021, after winning the African Champions League title for the tenth time in its history.

Al-Ahly won the third place in the last edition of the Club World Cup, which was held in Qatar at the beginning of this year.
